“Make it a rule never to give a child a book you would not read yourself.”

About

Hi, my name is Tami.
Welcome to A Book Worth Sharing

I come from a family of teachers and educators.  My mother, mother-in-law, and I all teach at the same elementary school.  My father works for the local school district, my father-in-law worked for the college, and my husband teaches junior high history.  And that's not including all the aunts and cousins!  Most of my teaching has been in 4th grade, but I have also worked in 1st, 3rd, and 6th grades.

With educator parents, it is really no surprise that I grew up loving books.  As a teacher, I have looked unsuccessfully for a collection of really excellent books sorted by reading level, a place to look for the perfect book to share with a child.  I also wanted a space where I could share some of my favorite reads with friends, family, and students.  Thus, A Book Worth Sharing was born.

My goal is to give parents and teachers a list of books by level that only includes books that are of a high enough quality I am willing to take the time to read them, again and again, myself.  I am excited to share my favorite books with you and would love to hear about some of your favorites as well.  Check out our Book Suggestions page to recommend some of your favorite books to us.
